Training & Workshop Program

Below is the timetable to date of workshops & training sessions that are available to any of the volunteers who are actively involved in a Community Emergency Planning Group or Winter Gritting Group across Suffolk.  This means that it's not just your key committee members but anyone who has said that they will volunteer in the evnt of an incicent occuring, or volunteers in organisations that form part of your local response teame.g. |Good Neighbours Scheme, WI etc.

Bookings are being taken for all the courses below. It doesn’t matter if you book on a course that is outside of the district that your group is in.  If that’s the date that suits you the best then that’s absolutely fine.  Bookings should be made by emailing Sue Herne via emergency.planning@suffolk.gov.uk  Giving your name, which course you wish to attend & which Community Emergency Planning Group you are a volunteer with.  Joining instructions will be sent out about a week before each event, but you will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of your booking.

To find out more about the courses we are running please see the course outline sheets here

With Regards to the rest Centre Training (P) = Practical Training Session & (T) = Theory.  You need to attend one theory session & 1 practical Session to complete the training, preferably the theory one first.  There are likely to be more sessions added to the program as we go through the year.  Rest Centre Training will be with the Council Staff and Managers.  Those that have previously attended are welcome to attend just another practical session if they wish to do so.

If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact Sue Herne on 01449 724851 or 07776 481787 or by using the email address above.
